When we were kids, one of the most thrilling times of the year was Christmas Eve. After a singing Christmas Carols for hours, we were showered and popped into our special, festive pyjamas. It was then time to set out treats for Santa and his reindeer, and hang out our magical Christmas stockings. Oh the immense joy and anticipation!
We still love Christmas here at Quetzy and we adore Australian Marsupials so of course we had to continue the theme from last year. Monty the Australian Sugar Glider celebrates that joyous moment we experienced as we hung out our Christmas stockings.
Like so many of Australia’s tiny marsupials, our Sugar Gliders are in decline, with deforestation and fragmentation of habitat posing the greatest threat to their survival. By wearing this brooch and chatting about Sugar Gliders, you foster an awareness of their plight.
The baby Sugar Glider is made from grey acrylic with pink ears, mouth, nose and hands. His pyjama options are in either festive green or pastel blue with inset acrylic love hearts. His Christmas stocking in either pastel raspberry or bright red has hand-painted details. This brooch is multi-layered.
