Quetzy recently photographed Eastern Yellow Robins in the Victorian Ranges.  These Australian natives were busy building a nest.  At Christmas time we are certain they’d forego the construction process in favour of an upturned bell.

The Yellow Robin has a tummy made from sunshine yellow acrylic and wings of soft, dove grey.  Her beak is dark grey and her eyes are gloss black.  All fine details have been etched and hand-painted.  At night time it can get cold, so she wears a scarf coloured dusty pink.

The Christmas bell nest, which was intentionally designed to trans-seasonal, has a base of dark teal with inset waratah leaves of a lighter shade.  The loop at the base of the bell has been shaped like a gum flower and is the perfect place to attach a ribbon of your choice.
