Description

Common Brushtail Possums are part of our urban community – Quetzy HQ shares its fruit trees with a resident possum family who sometimes bring their adorable babies down to show us.   The full impact of the summer bushfires is still unknown, although Images of injured possums, with blackened fur and paws wrapped in pressure bandages prompted the design of this charity brooch.

50% of the sale price of this brooch will go to the Bushfire Appeal of ‘Animals Australia’ who continue to provide expert wildlife vets to bushfire-affected areas throughout the country.   They also directly channel funds to individuals and groups helping injured animals and those assisting with the long-term needs critters who have survived in the wild.   We are certain that the money we raise together will go to where it is needed!

This super-limited possum has light grey acrylic fur with his nose and hands made from pale pink.   The hammer and carpenter’s pencils are also made from coloured acrylic.   Fine details have been hand painted. The nest box plank is made from etched bamboo.
