Snuggly Sugar Glider

Description

Sugar Gliders are busy builders.  When given the opportunity they will construct leafy nests in five different tree hollows. This strategy makes their movements unpredictable to predators and widens their access to sugary sap from different eucalypts.

We designed this brooch as a gift for Dr Jane Goodall on her recent visit to Australia and would love to share our joy for sugar gliders with everyone.

The leafy nest is crafted from two shades of eucalyptus green laser-cut acrylic, featuring etched lines. The cosy sugar glider has pink inset ears, nose, feet, and hands. Its eyes are black with hand-painted white highlights. The grey fur and bushy black tail are also intricately etched and hand-painted.
