Description

Continuing Quetzy’s obsession with Australian animals of the small, fluffy variety, here is the diminutive Honey Possum or Noolbenger.

These wide-eyed, long-nosed, marsupials live in the unique wilds of South Western Australia.  They feed on the nectar of banksias and are pollinators for many plant species.  Mothers tuck their tiny babies into upturned Christmas bells to keep their pouches free for flower blossoms.

The tiny Noolbenger is made from two shades of dusty grey, with inset eyes in black.  His little nose piece is a rosy pink.  The Christmas bell is made from pale blue with inset gum flowers in white with green centres.  The gum leaves are eucalypt in colour.  All fine details have been etched and hand-painted with care.
