Description

Striated Grasswrens are elusive little birds with big personalities. They inhabit the arid mallee region of Australia and are difficult to spot due to their camouflaged feathers and their habit of darting into native grass clusters at the slightest provocation.

In the breeding season Grasswrens can be found in adorable family troupes skipping and bouncing quickly while they forage and play. By wearing a striated grasswren brooch, you can teach others about this critically endangered, totally underrated feathered friend.

This little grasswren has been lovingly handmade from lasercut, etched and handpainted acrylic in shades of swirly brown. Her eye is inset and her feet are made from wood.

NOTE: Be super careful with her tiny feet as they are prone to catch in loose knitted tops. Although they have been reinforced with a backing of clear acrylic, we warn you to take care of her narrow left foot in particular.
