It is well known that Santa has feathered friends who spy upon children throughout the year. They relay behavioural reports back to the North Pole and these messages determine what is left in your stocking on Christmas night.  In Quetzy’s childhood home the spies were the ever-present European Sparrows who often perched on the monkey bars to watch us.  In the wilds near Chiltern National Park, it’s the role of the native, Red-Capped Robins.  Tiny lists, scrolled and stored in gumnut backpacks are delivered to Santa via the avian airlines network.

This Red-Capped Robin has a chest and cap of apple red acrylic with feathers of white and black.  His beak is a steel grey and his eye is gloss black.  All fine features have been etched and hand painted with care. His secret scrolls are ivory white and the gumnut backpack is made from an earthy brown with a band of pale green decorated with native Correa flowers in pink.
